Muhammad Nda Yakubu - President
Muhammad is the current President of the Nigerian Canterbury Association of New Zealand. He was born and brought up in Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeria. He arrived in New Zealand in February 2009 to further his education in New Zealand. He received a Bachelor degree in Software and Information Technology from Lincoln University, New Zealand and a Master degree in Human Interface Technology from University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
Muhammad currently works as a Senior Software Engineer with Jade Software, Christchurch. He is happily married and blessed with a daughter.
Adepate Rahmat Mustapha-Koiki - Vice President
Adepate Rahmat Mustapha-Koiki is the Vice President of Nigeria Canterbury Association of New Zealand (NCANZ). She is a PhD student in Media and Communication at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, specializing in the area of Conflict Communication.
She is passionate about promoting the brand for her country by embarking on projects relating to positive branding for institutions and agencies in Nigeria.She is a family person: happily married and blessed with children.
Prudence Walker - General Secretary
Born in the North Island of New Zealand and having lived between both Islands much of her life, Prudence now calls Christchurch home with her Nigerian partner Fuad.
Prudence has been involved in local, national, and international community organisations over the years including Junior Chamber International (JCI), CanTeen, Child Cancer Foundation, and the International Childhood Cancer Survivors Network.
Prudence holds qualifications in Hospitality Management and Human Resource Management. Her working life currently involves developing and running workshops for the wider community around disability rights and issues, as well as designing and making jewellery. In 2013 Prudence was a participant in the Be. Leadership program.
Ladi McGlinn - Treasurer
Fuad Erogbogbo - Social Secretary
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Fuad migrated to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2008 and now lives here with his Kiwi partner, Prudence.
Fuad works in the security industry protecting people and assets as well as running African themed dance parties from time to time. Fuad holds a Certificate of Approval under the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigator Act 2010 and a New Zealand Diploma in Business from Christchurch Polytech Institute of Technology.
Fuad continues his role as Social Secretary this term, having also held the position in the 2013-2014 term.
Joy Hall - Ex Officio
Alibe Wasa - Ex Officio
Alibe Wasa is an ex-officio of the association, he hail from Gombe State and was born in Cham, Balanga LGA, Gombe State, He attended Federal Government College Okigwe, Imo State where he obtained his WAEC before proceeding to ATBU, Bauchi and MAUTECH, Yola for his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree respectively in Microbiology. He is currently doing his PhD in Medical Microbiology at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch.
He is Happily married to his lovely wife Yinasim, and hopes to go back to continue his work as a lecturer at Gombe State University on completion of his programme.
He is passionate about research and fun.
